Today’s Daily Express article provides further welcome publicity to the inherently unfair situation that was created in 2015…
…when, despite the Justice for Widows Campaign success in preventing the surrender of widows’ pensions on remarriage or cohabitation from April 2015, it was not retrospective.
This meant that those whose pensions had already been surrendered did not get them back unless the second relationship had ended. We continue to urge for change in this area for ALL Armed Forces widows, so that those who had to give up their pension on remarriage before April 2015 might once again be entitled to receive it.
