Over the last few years Armed Forces pensions have become increasingly complex. Once there was a single scheme; now there are four mainstream schemes and although all but one are closed to new joiners, most of those with service before 2015 will have at least two separate pension entitlements, potentially paying out different sums at different times. Our group briefings help give some clarification of how the schemes work, but also describe our work and its value to serving and retired members of the Armed Forces and their dependants. The feedback we receive is overwhelmingly positive.
Last week we visited 1st Battalion Scots Guards and this is what Lt Col J D L Leask MBE, Commanding Officer had to say…
”Thank you very much indeed for allowing Kate to come to talk to 1st Battalion Scots Guards last week. Her presentations on the different pension schemes were superb. Kate was able to explain what can be a very complicated issue in a manner that everyone could understand – impressive. It was clear from the conversations that followed the brief that everyone left the room appreciating just how good our pension schemes are. Consequently, I have no doubt that Kate has significantly helped the Battalion’s retention effort. Once again, thank you very much indeed. ”
