Due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 outbreak, the Forces Pension Society (FPS) proposes to deliver pension presentations via Zoom webinars.
The first trial for this will take place on Thursday 2 April starting at 3pm and we would like to invite up to fifty FPS members to participate, to give their thoughts and feedback.
The webinar will cover Armed Forces Pension Schemes 05 and 15, and provide strategic context to the AFPS current landscape. It will last for approximately one hour.
FPS members wishing to participate in the AFPS 05/15 trial webinar on 2 April are requested to email the FPS Roadshow Manager, David Roberts, at davidr@forpen.co.uk by close of play Tuesday 31 March, notifying their wish to attend (please also include your FPS membership number in the email). Attendance, up to fifty participants, will be on a first come first served basis.
David will send Zoom webinar invitations to participants on Wednesday 1 April, which will include a URL, password and meeting ID to access the webinar.
If you do not receive a Zoom webinar invitation on 1 April it will mean that we exceeded fifty Members wishing to attend the trial and that, unfortunately, you were not amongst the first fifty people to apply. However, we are extremely grateful for your interest in attending and we will notify you of future FPS pension webinars once they are scheduled.
Guidance notes on how to join the webinar on 2 April, including details of a helpline for anybody encountering difficulties joining it, and protocol for the conduct of the webinar, for example how to ask questions, will be available in the Members area of the FPS website from Wednesday 1 April.
As this will be the first trial using a Zoom webinar to deliver a pension presentation, we would very much welcome Members’ feedback, in particular on the functional and procedural aspects, either via the Zoom ‘Chat’ facility during the event or by emailing davidr@forpen.co.uk afterwards.
Once we have finalised the format and procedure for the Armed Forces Pensions webinars, our intention will be to make them available and accessible to the whole military community.
Your assistance and support is extremely appreciated.
