We are delighted to hear that FPS President, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier, has been awarded the Knight Grand Cross (GCB) in the Military division of the Queen's Birthday Honours List at the weekend.
Sir Stephen retired from the Royal Air Force in July 2019 after 39 years of service, culminating in his final 3 years, when he was Chief of the Air Staff. A member of the Forces Pension Society for a number of years, he became President after his retirement in 2019.
The Knight Grand Cross is the highest appointment attainable in The Most Honourable Order of the Bath, the fourth most senior of the British orders of chivalry. Appointment is restricted to those who hold at least the rank of Rear Admiral, Major General or Air Vice Marshal.
We wish Sir Stephen our warmest congratulations on this well-deserved honour.
