People will have been disappointed to hear that the annual Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph will be a closed ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic, and for the first time, the public have been asked not to gather there.
The public are still urged to remember all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice by coming together for a national moment of silence at 11am on that day as the service is broadcast nationwide on BBC One, Sky and ITV.

Despite the lockdown, you can still get a poppy from some of our corporate partners who can remain open. Unable to get out? Instead make an online donation & download a poppy to display in your window. Remember #everypoppycounts

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
When you go home, tell them of us and say,
For your tomorrow, we gave our today.
