Yesterday John Pitt-Brooke and Mary Petley from our team visited the Veterans’ Gateway call centre run by Connect Assist in South Wales.
The call centre is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and they help deliver chat, phone, and text message services. the team comprise of veterans and other specialist advisers. And what a great job they do! When a veterans makes contact and after a needs assessment, they are quickly connected with face-to-face support through the Veterans’ Gateway network of partners and organisations both in the UK and overseas, including of course the FPS.
Working with the Gateway has been a hugely successful partnership for the Society – we have been able to help many people with their pensions enquiries and we were pleased to be told yesterday that we dealt with many more referrals than any other partner organisation.
This shows that in certain circumstances we can make our unique pensions expertise available more broadly than to our Members. It has been a very happy association, and we look forward to growing it further in the year ahead.
