Question of the Week

This week we give you an answer to a question which is regularly put to the team on state pensions

Will my AFPS pension be affected when I claim my State Pension?

The only people who will see an impact will be those who have service before 1 April 1980.  Those who have will see a reduction of 87p for every year of reckonable service before that date and the reduction will take place at their State Pension Age.

You may wish to check back early next week for an article we have planned outlining the relationship between the State Pension and your Armed Forces Pension.
