The statement said:
The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
The Board, staff and all Members of the Forces Pension Society extend their sincere condolences to the Royal Family following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
May 2022’s Pennant (the Journal of the Forces Pension Society) was dedicated to recording the Queen’s commitment to service, and the Armed Forces in particular.
For the Society, this is how she will be remembered; an anchor for the nation, the personification of moderation, discretion and respect for others; a stoic and an optimist.
