Office Closure, Monday 19 September for The Queen’s State Funeral

Monday 19 September, the date of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral, will be a national bank holiday, and will mark the last day of the period of national mourning.

We would like to advise that as a mark of respect to the late Queen, and to commemorate Her Majesty’s reign, we will close our office on Monday 19 September, to allow members of staff who wish to follow the State Funeral to do so. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday 20 September.

Funeral Details:

Presently, Her Majesty The Queen Lies-in-State in Westminster Hall at the Palace of Westminster, and her State Funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday, 19th September.

06:30 The Lying-in-State will end as the final members of the public are admitted.

10:44 The Coffin will be carried in procession on the State Gun Carriage of the Royal Navy from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey for the State Funeral.

11:00 The funeral service begins and will last one hour. It will be conducted by the Dean of Westminster.

11:55 The Last Post will sound 

12:00 Two Minute’s Silence to be observed in the Abbey, and throughout the United Kingdom

13:00 After a procession to Wellington Arch, the Coffin will be transferred to the State Hearse to travel to Windsor.

16:00 A Committal Service will take place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor
