Armed Forces Pay Award 2024-2025 Announced as 6%

Today, 30 July, the Secretary of State for Defence John Healy, announced the Government’s decision on pay for the Armed Forces for 2024-25.

Armed Forces personnel will receive a 6% pay rise – ‘the largest in 22 years’.

The report sets out the Armed Forces Pay Review Body’s (AFPRB) analysis of evidence given by relevant organisations and makes recommendations for Armed Forces’ remuneration and charges.

Conscious of the high rate of voluntary outflow and the need to be more attractive to recruits, the AFPRB headline recommendation was 6%.

Defence Secretary John Healy said:

This pay award will benefit every member of the Armed Forces. It is an important step towards turning around the declining morale and recruitment crisis we have faced in recent years. A clear demonstration of our government’s commitment to improving service life.
