Today, the Office for National Statistics published the Services and support, responses from family members of UK armed forces veterans: Veterans’ Survey 2022, UK.
The section covering finance and pensions can be found at Paragraph 12 and states that respondents felt:
‘there was a need for more transparency, better advice and clearer information on the Armed Forces Pension Scheme (AFPS) and also the 2015 Pension Remedy, than was provided by the government and charities.
Family members said they would welcome simpler and faster application processes and information on pensions and that they would find automatic updates on pension information and online access to pension services beneficial.’
We are studying the survey’s findings to better understand where improvements can be made in support of the whole Armed Forces community – something we strive to do every day.
