On 24 April the Chief Executive spoke to the UK Military members of the Higher Command and Staff Course (HCSC) at the Defence Academy, Shrivenham.
This was a key opportunity to update Defence’s senior leadership and remind them that the Armed Forces Pension is fundamental in sustaining operational capability.
As a former HCSC course member and director himself, Neil was eager to reinforce that message and very grateful to be presenting during their final week which has included addresses from the Chief of Defence Staff, Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe and Commander Strategic Command.
HCSC runs once each year, from January to April, and aims “to prepare future leaders in higher command and staff appointments, across the defence and security environment, to fight and win against any future state or non-state adversary”.
Course members are drawn from the top 1-2% of their peer group across the 3 Services and includes allied and partner nations officers; individuals from the UK’s defence industry and partners across government.
