Help for Heroes Recovery College

What is the Recovery College?

The Help for Heroes Recovery College offers free courses and self-help guides to help improve and manage physical and mental wellbeing.

All courses are co-produced and co-facilitated, which means they are created and delivered by a combination of qualified experts (including nurses, counsellors and occupational therapists), and Peer Support Trainers from within the Armed Forces Community who have lived experience of recovery themselves. The courses are tailor-made specifically for veterans and their family members, and contain tools, tips and strategies to help you take control, build confidence and move forward in your recovery, and in life!

What support is provided?

There are two options of support; free online group courses alongside others in the Armed Forces Community or self-help guides, available 24/7 through our website, for you to work through at your own pace – anytime, anywhere. Topics include managing mental health, such as anxiety, anger, low mood and depression. Supporting your physical health by understanding sleep, pain, nutrition, and tinnitus. Moving forward in Recovery by setting goals and making positive changes, and specific support for carers. There are no exams or pressure, it’s just about giving you the skills and knowledge to have a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life.
