On 2 Sep Lord Davies of Brixton and Lord Craig of Radley (former Chief of the Defence Staff and a Forces Pension Society Vice-President) raised the issue of recovery of pension overpayments during a debate on the Armed Forces Bill. These interventions help to keep the issue firmly on the Government’s radar and reinforce our stated position that the liability for repaying the public purse should lie with those responsible for the errors, not the veterans affected by the errors.
Lord Davies said:
”The consequence of all this is that government has lost the confidence of much of the veteran community through a deficient and poorly executed contract. ”
