Last week our Chief Executive met with the Scottish Veterans Secretary Keith Brown MSP (Mr Brown is a former Royal Marine) to update him on the Society’s role and to discuss the key issues of the day that concern our membership.
Discussions focussed on the central role the Armed Forces Pension plays in sustaining operational capability, providing a financial platform for a second career and, ultimately, a dignified retirement.
Topical issues included the implementation of the AFPS 15 Remedy (McCloud), the impact of pension taxation and the need to better publicise the fact several thousand Armed Forces Pensions remain unclaimed; see our last update on the subject here.

Mr Brown published a Tweet encouraging
“Anyone who thinks they may be eligible to check now”
