We were delighted to host Minister for Defence People, Veterans & Service Families, The Rt Hon Dr Andrew Murrison MP at the Society’s offices in Vauxhall today.
Discussions focussed on the central role the Armed Forces Pension plays in sustaining operational capability, providing a financial platform for a second career and, ultimately, a dignified retirement.
It was an excellent opportunity to highlight the Society’s crucial role in providing Armed Forces Pension related support and guidance to our 65,000+ members.
We also discussed the key issues of the day including the AFPS 15 Remedy (McCloud), the recently announced changes to pension taxation rules, and the need to keep publicising the fact that several thousand Armed Forces Pensions remain unclaimed and how eligible veterans can claim a preserved pension they may be entitled to.
