A comprehensive update of what has been achieved so far and what the Government will do next, in partnership with stakeholders, to support veterans and their families.
Background: The Strategy for Veterans sets out the Government’s 10 year vision for veterans and their families to transition into civilian life and contribute fully to a society that understands and values what they have to offer.
The Veterans’ Strategy Action Plan 2022 to 2024 focuses on three main areas:
- Transforming services for veterans
- Understanding the veteran community
- Recognising veterans’ contribution to society
This report outlines how the OVA is working with departments across Government, as well as the NHS, local authorities, other public bodies, universities and the charitable sector, to deliver positive change for veterans, and highlights whats been achieved over the last 6 months.
You will note on page 24 that the report states:
“The OVA is working with the MOD and the Forces Pension Society to reunite more veterans with unclaimed, deferred pension benefits”
This has been an ongoing campaign for the Society and we are pleased that Government has now recognised the need to reunite those Veterans with their pensions. Read about our campaign here.
