A new Government – so what for the Society and its Members?

A message from the Chief Executive:

You will all be aware that a new Government took office on Friday 5 July. Key Cabinet appointments and Ministerial roles have now been confirmed.

The Society will work constructively with the new Government on matters relating to the Armed Forces Pension Scheme and will always represent the interests of our members and the wider Armed Forces community when doing so.

A Defence Review will soon be underway. No matter the outcome, people will remain at the very heart of military capability. Part of their overall remuneration package is a pension scheme that encourages service, provides a financial platform for a second career and ultimately a dignified retirement.

Our policy position, which the MoD is aware of, remains firmly rooted in our 5 Pillars model shown here which links to career structures and operational effectiveness.
